Celebrating Angus Cattle with the World

With the Neogen World Angus Forum coming to Australia in May 2025, for the first time in thirty years, it is a natural fit for Teys to become involved in the celebration of all things Angus. The Teys Australia Angus ShootOut event, commencing in October 2024, with final judging occurring in May 2025 as the Angus conference kicks off, is the result.

Whilst the cattle that enter the inaugural Teys Australia Angus ShootOut are on feed at our Jindalee Feedlot from late October, it is great opportunity to reflect on the love affair of Aussies and customers around the world with our Angus beef.

“Our own branded program, Teys Certified Angus was initiated in 2007, and has been a core foundation of our branded program sales since then, both in Australia and around the world,” said Grant Garey, General Manager Feedlots, for Teys Australia.

“Teys Certified Angus delivers the superior eating quality of the Angus breed and the science of the Meat Standard Australia (MSA) grading system, to deliver a superior beef product. We further ensure the integrity of this brand and maintain it through our rigorous Teys Certified Angus certification process.”

The Teys Certified Angus program is third party audited for authenticity and traceability. This program also provides full supply chain accountability, from our livestock producers to our processing facilities. The program also requires all cattle to have a minimum Angus genetic breed content to be eligible for the Teys Certified Angus program.

“And it’s not just our customers that appreciate and celebrate the quality of our Angus brand. Teys Certified Angus has taken out multiple awards both nationally and on the world stage, with consistent wins in the Royal Sydney Fine Food Show, and the prestigious World Steak Challenge,” said Grant.

“We are thrilled that the judges have bestowed this honour on a much-loved Angus brand from Teys. Such industry accolades are a win for everyone involved.”

“The awards celebrate the greatness of Angus cattle, the hard work of our producer partners where the cattle are first raised on natural pastures, then finished on grain for approximately 100 days by our Teys feedlot team, and the Teys production teams that bring the full flavour of this beef to the fore,” said Grant.

“It’s paddock to plate recognition for a premium range of Angus beef from Teys. And we look forward to continuing to recognise the superior quality of these cattle when the world comes to Australia to celebrate the Angus forum in May 2025.”

The World Angus Forum is an exclusive global event that brings togeher Angus cattle breeders, enthusiasts, and industry professionals from around the world to share knowledge, innovation and showcase these great cattle.
